Fire provides businesses with access to a range of payment services, including accounts, bank transfers, debit cards, FX, and open banking payments. With our platform and licences, we deliver solutions that automate payment processing and make reconciliation easier, more cost-effective and secure.

What is the role?

We are now seeking a CTO to join our team at a time of growth for the business. The ideal candidate should be a technology leader with in-depth hands on knowledge and experience and at least five years’ relevant experience. They will display leadership, organisation and knowledge, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Reporting to the CEO, the successful candidate will work to align the technology strategy with the business vision.

Responsibilities

  • The IT function is divided into three core areas, with the CTO responsible for each.
    1. The product management team comprises the analysts, architect and product specialists who roadmap developments in line with the business strategy.
    2. The development team includes, architects, development and QA engineers.
    3. The platform operations group focus on the design and operations of the core systems, security and office environment.
  • To lead with the development and execution of an IT Plan in agreement with the CEO and to ensure that the tech resources are deployed in line with the agreed roadmaps.
  • Responsible for ensuring the plan is supported by standards, a target and performance management framework and the completion of initiatives to ensure constant improvements.
  • Lead in the prioritisation of projects within the company both from a strategic and operational perspective aligning with group company goals.
  • Manage the multi-disciplined team in an open style with clear accountabilities.
  • Engage with the board as required and fulfil all responsibilities as a PCF role.

What should you have?

  • 5+ years’ experience ideally within a 24/7 AWS environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical people.
  • Experience managing and developing individuals ensuring roles align with the business strategy.
  • Experience driving process change and process improvement.

As the CTO of a fintech that is enabling businesses to integrate payment services, you will have a great opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of the firm. Our Dublin office is based in Dogpatch Labs, CHQ Building and our London office is in Rise in Shoreditch.
